Y'all I love being southern. Big hair? Yes please. Sweet tea? Check. Never meeting a stranger? Scary sometimes but nice :) But. my fav southern trait is southern hospitality (I've blogged about this before).

I seriously had no clue how big of a deal Mardi Gras is down here but dude, it's A BIG DEAL. School is out, there's a million parades, and it dominates the news. So happy Mardi Gras to everyone especially my anonymous neighbor :)

Our house does not have enough natural light. As in, we only have 6 windows (including two sliding glass doors). So, the time came to introduce Emma Jane to the sun. The girl loved it and it took everything I had to keep her from staring at the sun (she also loves staring at the light bulbs when they're on). She's definitely our little moth. Emma Jane,

You are one month old. It feels like just yesterday I was freaking out about going into the hospital to have you. You already have a little personality starting to shine through. You love play time. You reach for things when you lay on your back and love to watch the lights on your mirror during tummy time. You are super sassy. If you're not happy, you definitely let us (and the neighbors) know.

You have some really wild hair and your hate hair bows. Sorry but I am totally still making you wear them. This is your first life lesson from your mom. Beauty over comfort. Kidding....kinda.

You've had some trouble with eating. You've gone through four (yes, four) different formulas. Your little belly makes a grumble noise whenever food hits it. Acid reflux is not your best friend. The doc says you need to gain weight.

You've already started learning about God. I think him multiple times a day for allowing me to be your mom. I've already scheduled your baptism and I cannot wait for March 11th, 2012.

You stay in your pj's pretty much all day long. But, that's ok because I do too :)

You haven't quite gotten down the whole pacifier thing but you try really hard. I can tell it soothes you so we keep at it.

You absolutely hate bath time. You always pee in the bath water which totally grosses momma out. I love you anyway.

I know most of you have read about my journey with infertility. I've talked in length about my struggles to conceive and how once I finally did, it always ended up as an unexplained miscarriage. Life was rough. I wanted to be a mom. YEARNED to be a Mom. I had begun telling people I wasn't going to be able to carry a baby to full term and I was ok with it (because adoption was always an option). I was lying. I wasn't ok with it. That's like telling someone who has always wanted to be a doctor that they couldn't go to college x's 1,000,000. All the while, God had a plan. I should have known better :)

This is Emma Jane's birth story.

Dec. 13th
7:00 pm- Have Chick-fil-a as my last pre-baby meal. I knew I wouldn't be eating for a bit so this was very imperative
10:00 pm- Arrive at the Hospital (so nervous I start crying as soon as I go to check in)
10:30 pm- hooked up to my IV and Willy is allowed to come back to the room
10:35 pm- Cytotec was given to help induce labor
11:00 pm- SLEEP thanks to Ambien (remind me later to write the company a love letter)

Dec 14th
1:00 am- dilated to 3 cm
1:05 am- sleep
ALL FRIGGIN NIGHT LONG: blood pressure checks. My BP was really really high.
8:00 am- Dr. broke my water. Y'all this was seriously the most painful part of labor (other than pushing out the baby)
8:05 am- Pitocin drip started

9:00 am- sleep

12:00 pm- 4 cm dilated
12:05 pm- sleep
3:00 pm- epidural #1 administered (it didn't take)
3:30 pm- epidural #2 (still didn't take)
4:00 pm- epidural #3. It was like the gates of Heaven opened up and started singing. Obviously, it took.
4:30 pm- sleep
6:00 pm- dilated to 9 cm
6:10 pm- started pushing
8:22 pm- Emma Jane Thompson made her debut into the world

I'll spare you the details of the complications but I will say this: I will 100% be having a c-section if God allows me to have another baby. Also please note that I basically slept until it was time to push which is apparently unheard of. Whatever...I was stocking up.

Highlights/lowlights of Christmas:
High: Willy reading Emma Jane 'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Low: Getting in a fight with my Dad because he let complete strangers into my home
High: Emma Jane's grandparents being here for her first Christmas
Low: Willy's Dad was sick so he didn't get to hold her
High: Starting new family Christmas traditions (like staying in our PJ's all day)
Low: I couldn't go to mass
High: My Dad took down our Christmas decorations so Willy and I wouldn't have to
Low: We found Maggots in the acorns from Thanksgiving and I had to wash 50% of my closet and I promptly threw up and stated that I wanted to move (dramatic much?)

It's been a while but I was busy having a baby (and being too lazy to blog)! The thought of recapping Christmas and Thanksgiving is so overwhelming that I'm punking out and doing a picture recap!

Thanksgiving (this was a HOUSE FULL OF PEOPLE!)

This was also the first year I haven't gone out for Black Friday for as long as I can remember. I MISSED it. I love watching the crazies push and yell and scream for a towel that cost $1. It's awesome. Seriously the best people watching you will ever experience in your life (SO much better than airport people watching which is a very close #2).

This past Friday, we decided to make a little trip to the beach. Totally normal as we do this a lot. Usually we go to a secret little spot in Orange Beach that's never packed and has really nice bathrooms (I'm pregnant, it's a priority). The wind was really bad at our normal spot so we decided to drive around for a bit and then head down to Fort Morgan to watch the sunset. I remember going to Fort Morgan in March and seeing people get stuck in the sand and thinking how crazy they must of been to think they could push their car out of the huge trench they had dug. Until....we got stuck. Such a rookie move. 45 mins of Willy pushing the car while I put it in gear later, THREE people pulled up to help us out. One had a rope. One had a truck. One had boards. The closest tow truck was 20+ miles away and wanted to charge over $200 to come pull us out. Once again, THANK GOD WE LIVE IN THE SOUTH.

Cue dramatic scene: Church was in 10 mins and we were running late (I *might* have stopped at Wendy's because I Emma Jane was starving). We turned down the regular road to see huge road blocks any every.single.turn. Most people would have given up, but not this girl. I NEEDED some Jesus. Long story short, Jubilee Fest was going on (PS I have no clue what Jubilee Fest is for)!

JF was basically food, over priced vendors who sold things I didn't even know I needed until I saw it and HAD to have it, and tons of pageant girls displaying their "talent" PSA- not everyone can sing. Please don't let your loved ones think they can if in fact they cannot. The entire world will thank you :)

The best part about being in KY was seeing my daughter's face. Holy crap. That's the first time I've said that and I really, really, like it :)

The entire process took about 45 mins and I got to keep the video and several pics! I have literally watched that video ten times and could watch it about 100 more! She stretches and sucks her little thumb during the 45 min video session which clearly means we have a little ham on our hands :)

Trip to KY

Lately the extent of my day is deciding whether or not to get dressed before Willy comes home in order to look like I've actually done something for the day (true story). So, when my parents offered to drive down to AL and take me back to KY for a couple of weeks I jumped at the chance and then quickly wondered do I have enough clothes to fit me for two weeks (resounding "NO").

Several things happened while in KY: My Mom threw my Dad a surprise 50th birthday party, I had a huge baby shower thanks to my Mom, MIL, and sis, I had a 4-d ultrasound and got to see the face that will cure cancer one day, and I bought Emma Jane's new ride :)

Also, I'm just now realizing I'm not so good at taking belly shots (I've scheduled a post for tomorrow that shows the one's I do actually have!). And that weekly update thing everybody does while they're pregnant? Yeah, seeing as how I'm 27 weeks and haven't started, doesn't look like I'm going to be doing that either...sorry!

I've broken everything into a couple of posts (plus I've already written them and scheduled them to post so I won't conveniently forget :)

There's no excuse for me lacking on the ol' blog. I've been on bed rest so if nothing else, it should have made me want to blog right? Wrong. Waking up, sleeping, playing around on the internet, and watching way too much trashy TV does not inspire me to blog.

So to catch you up:

Willy and I found out we are having a little girl!
We moved to the Gulf Coast area in Alabama
Willy is in his third (or fourth?) month of work as a Veterinarian and he loves it :)
In three months, we've had TONS of visitors(my parents 3x's, my sis and BIL, my MIL, and my FIL). Somehow I knew once we moved to the beach we'd have more company (I'm not complaining, I love it)!!
I had to get rid of Beatrice. I had that pink Beetle for almost 8 years and I L-O-V-E-D her but she was getting unreliable and expensive. I traded her in for Reginald the Rav (or Reggie if you're cool like that).
I got my hair done!!! This was literally the highlight of June for me.

What we sent family to let them know what we were having (and by we I mean I bc Willy won't be pushing her out)

About 1/4 mile from our house. The Bay has the most breathtaking sunsets.

I broke out of the house when I was on bed rest but still took it easy :)

I don't even know where to begin. Yes that's weird because I've never been one to not have something to say.

I'M FREAKING PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even now 13 weeks later, I still wake up feeling like it's not true. There's no way I can have a baby (our baby) growing in my belly. The past five + years have left me feeling like this was never going to happen. I've been dealt some major blows in the past. Being told I would NEVER conceive, miscarriages that required chemo, miscarriages that didn't require chemo, more miscarriages, then a few more miscarriages. This time it's different. There's a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!! A strong heartbeat. Plus since I'm high risk I've had the luxury of having a an ultrasound every week since week six. Here's the latest ultrasound @ 12 weeks.

Here's to praying with everything I have that Baby "T" will be just fine :)

Clearly this whole blog thing has taken a backseat to packing. PS- I'll give you all the wine you can drink if you finish packing for me.

First up. I broke my tailbone. It hurts. It hurts a lot. This happened when our friends invited to cookout at a local state park. We sent them a text to find out where they were they told us IN THE FREAKING CREEK. This girl? Has never been in a creek and isn't much of a hiker. 20 mins of hiking a steep incline later, and into the creek I went after falling with a sundress, pearls, and my longchamp purse. Here we are below. I'm the one in the dress. Willy looks like he was prepared but don't be fooled he wasn't. PS- we never cooked out :(

Did I forget to mention this guy showed up with his 5 ft pet python? I literally ran so fast my friends didn't even realize what what going on. Awesome.

Biscuits Baseball. We lost but I did flirt with the confession stand guy and he gave me free cheese with a few fries (and no it wasn't fries with cheese it was def. cheese with a few fries).

Since we're moving soon and won't be living so close to ATL, we made a final trip. I love Piedmont Park. I love it a lot.

Auburn City Fest 2011. We listened too music and ate. Apparently we will go anywhere for food.

The packing has gotten to my brain.

PS- my b-day week has officially begun. T-minus 6 days until I turn the big 2-7. I'm dreading it. A lot.

First of all, I can not even begin to thank you for the kind words and encouragement from my last post. I was super nervous/emotional when I wrote the post because I wasn't sure how people would react to it! I should have known better :) I'll be posting later on this week about my food options, what worked vs what didn't, etc!

Second of all, Willy has TEN days left until he becomes DOCTOR THOMPSON!!!!!! It's been a journey to say the least. On Saturday we went to the Masquerade Ball held in honor of the Class of 2011! I will miss these people more than I ever thought I would.

My story.

I've always struggled with my weight. When I was younger (and a cheerleader), I was anorexic. It started in 8th grade and last until the end of my sophomore year of high school. I can remember that I felt a little victory when I was so hungry that I would (sometimes) pass out. I literally lived off eating a baked potato every other day, and that was only if I was going out dinner with my parents.

Jumping ahead to my senior year and college years, I was pretty healthy there for a while. I ate "right" and continuously pushed myself to eat. In fact, I pushed myself so much, that I started to really really really love food. Add that to the fact that I was no longer cheer leading, and I put on the pounds. I was happy. I was in love. I was fat and in extreme denial. When I was 19, I was diagnosed with PCOS and found that losing weight was EXTREMELY hard and nearly impossible. PCOS not only caused me to gain/maintain the weight but was also one of the main reasons I have had so many miscarriages. I knew I needed to get it under control but was still in denial.

Now? I'm no longer in denial. My main motivation to lose the weight is because I want a family. B-A-D. I went to my doctor, talked to a nutritionist, and set up a plan of attack. I WOULD force myself to work out. I WOULD count every.single.calorie that entered my body. I WOULD lose the 80 pounds that I needed to, to be healthy.

July of 2010 (-10 pounds)

August 2010 (-15 pounds)

September 2010 (-30ish pounds): this was the first time I could see a difference in myself :)

November 2010 (-50 pounds)

December 2010 (-55ish pounds)

January 2011 (-60 pounds)

February 2011 (-67 pounds)

March 2011 (-73 pounds)

Last weekend 4-9-11 (-80 pounds)!

Soon, Willy and I are moving to an undetermined location (that sounds much cooler than we really are).

Everyday on the way to work, I drive past this trailer.

It may seem normal, but please take a closer look....

Do you seem them? Yep, right there in the middle of the fence, there is a pair of mannequin legs. The weirdest thing is that the owner of the legs changes their direction. During the spring/summer he face the legs upright. Right now it's winter which clearly means to face them towards the ground. WTF does this mean?

I have ADD. It's a fact. I know because I self-diagnosed via wedmd (I'm totally one of those people). My ADD/boredom usually results in the most ~~weird~~ random things. I'd like to think this project was not one of those times. Even if it was, please indulge me.

I was totally inspired by John and Sherry and this post to create a silhouette of my babies (of the four legged variety). It was totally simple, took me about 45 mins (most of which was spent trying to get a good side shot of Isabelle and Oscar), and completely changed the entire dinning room gallery wall. Wanna see?

Clearly, I'm still working on the whole exaggeration problem.

I started with these two pics

and then quickly realized I had absolutely no photo shop skills. Eventually after playing around with the saturation levels, contrast levels, cropping out Willy (who looks like a total creeper in this pic), and drawing an ear for Isabelle by using the eraser, I ended up with these:

Here's where I got a little ghetto. I didn't have nice thick paper, patience to cut out the silhouettes, or decorative background paper. I simply printed these out and cut the computer paper to fit in the frames. Yes, you can tell. Clearly I don't recommend this version. Now that I say that, I realize these have been up for months and I've never thought twice about it!

Amazing-ness in three words: Cheesy Chicken Crescents.

I can't take credit for this recipe, as it was given to me by a former co-worker (hi Jessica)! I made a few changes and now, it's a staple 'round these parts!

What you need: (make four servings)
*one can of cream of chicken soup (I used 98% fat free)
*One can of crescent rolls (again, I used reduced fat)
*Milk (I use skim)
*Shredded Cheese, amount varies!
*2 chicken breasts
*casserole dish

1. Pour the Cream of chicken soup into a bowl
2. Fill the can about 2/3 of the way full of milk and dump into the bowl

3. Mix until it's not lumpy. Set aside and let the flavors marinade (sounds official).

4. Boil or bake chicken breasts. I boiled mine because of time, but I like baked better.

5. Roll out the crescents. Pinch together two to form a rectangle. One can makes four "rectangles".

6. Spread a layer of the "sauce" then cheese (optional) on the crecsent.
7. Shred chicken and place over cheese

8. Roll up the crescents. I didn't have enough chicken, but you definitely want the chicken spilling out of these guys! The more, the better!

9. Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of your casserole dish to keep the crescent rolls from burning.
10. Put crescents in dish (obviously)

11. Drown crescents with the rest of your "sauce"
12. Cover with cheese (as much or as a little as you want)

13. Bake at 375 for 35ish mins. You'll know when it's done, trust me.
14. Devour.

If I detail everything we did in Vegas, I would be writing so much, even I wouldn't read it all. Just please note, I realize I look horrible in some of the pics. I was in the hospital on Saturday and around 3 hours later was on a plane to Vegas. Let's just say if we wouldn't have lost out on so much $$$ I would have canceled the trip. Sick or not Vegas was AWESOME.

Didn't encounter any probs with ANY of our flights. This is a 1st for us!
Meet some really cool people
Ate some really good food (well, at least Willy did)
Went to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead all in ONE day

Here's a little peek at what Willy and I have been up to this Christmas season thus far. Tonight we are having our annual Christmas part, please say a prayer that I don't collapse from exhaustion before 8 p.m.

First up, Fantasy in Lights. For all the KY people, it's like Southern Lights but you have the option of riding a trolley and there's much better food! I took tons of pictures but like 5 of them came out, which is fan-freaking-tastic. I also took video, but it's so shaky if you watch if you might throw up. Here are the pics that turned out!

Sweet girl in front of us on the trolley took a pic for us. I' not sure why my face is so shiny (great), especially because it was freezing!

Our first ever gingerbread house/train. I'm also pretty sure this will be our last until we have kids. At least then we'll have an excuse as to why it looks so...um....bad.

No witty comments, just a picture with a little bit of an explanation. This is a photo of me today 11-23-10 holding my AL licence (pic taken 8-29-2007). This was the heaviest I ever weighed. I was depressed, moved to a town where I knew no one, had no job, and was losing my husband to vet school. Around 6 weeks later, I got a job and immediately lost around 20 pounds (woo-hoo!). But the rest? Just kinda stuck around. This June I vowed to myself to get in shape and have lost 54 pounds since then. Although I'm not done, this picture definitely puts it into perspective.

Willy and I usually carve our pumpkins together every year. While his always turns out nice and mine look like a 2 year old tried really hard but didn't quite get it, it's still something we always do together. However, this year, Willy has been totally sucked into the "I'm taking my boards so I only eat, sleep, and study" abyss. So, in lieu of having four carved pumpkins that all resembled a disaster (I am that bad, not everyone can be this guy), I decided to paint our pumpkins. Want proof?

Once Halloween was over, I moved these out to our patio table and put a few pine cones around them for instant Thanksgiving decorations! Two months later and they are not rotten! However, since Willy takes his boards next TUESDAY (freak out moment here!!!! OMG), be assured that once they do start to rot, it will totally be his job to get rid of them.

Christmas Card dilemma solved!

Willy and I had a make shift photo session in July (yes, you read that right, JULY) when we went to Savannah. Why? Because I wanted to get the perfect Christmas card picture. I know it's totally ridiculous, but getting the perfect Christmas card picture is something I think about all year!

This year, I plan on using Shutterfly for our Christmas cards. I love a lot of their designs and more importantly, I love the fact that I can customize them to meet my specifications. I love this design because ~~I'm pretty vain~~, I'm indecisive and found more than one perfect "Christmas card picture"!

There are literally hundreds of designs to choose from which makes me one happy girl! Speaking of which, I also really love this design

As you can tell, I can get pretty winded (and this is no exception on cards). This means I need space to write. These folded cards are the perfect solution, allowing me plenty of space to write what I want and not having to go with your typical "love, Terri and Willy".

However, sometimes my laziness takes over and I really don't want to write 30 plus handwritten notes which usually say the same thing. When that happens, I always go with a flat note card, just like option number one! This is another flat note option, because this year my left hand is giving me the whole "I really don't want to write so much" pain.

****WARNING- LONG POST AHEAD****
I love fall in Alabama. It's the perfect temp between summer where it feels like someone threw a blanket over your face when trying to breathe, and winter. But, this fall is different. It's October 25th and it was 84 degrees this morning on my way into work (7:30 AM). Hey 70's? WHERE ARE YOU? End of rant.

Mom and Dad came down for a visit at the beginning of October and I totally forgot to post anything about it (obvs, my love for the cookie press took top priority). Since everyone was posting these amazing pics from all the pumpkin patches back in KY/IN (shout out to Huber's Orchard), I felt like I was missing out on an amazing opportunity and decided we had to go too. Sadly, we were all pretty disappointed. These pp's down here just can't compare to what we're used to. Oh well, since we were the only people there, we had a few perks:
*our very own hayride which had no wait!
*private tour from the owner
*two pig races just in our honor
*Mom and I got to feed 3 month old Pygmy goats (Petunia and Marigold)
*VIP passes into the animal area (which I'm making up, but she took us up close and personal!)

*learning that over 500 kids had left around 10 mins before we got there! PTL- I love kids, but I don't want to be surrounded by 500 of them.

After a friend asked about saving money on monthly expenses, I put together all info that I use. I didn't realize so many people where going to ask for it- but here's the email just in case saving $ is your thing (and if it's not, please send some of your fortune my way...kidding- kinda).

Groupon/ Living Social is really good for cheap fandango tickets (usually $20 for 4) or other daily "happies". Plus the first time you buy anything from living social you get a $5 credit!

*I also am a member of Pine Cone research and for every survey I get three dollars (which in less than nine months I've earned over $200). It's only open to new members at certain times but swaggrabber is really good about posting when it's open. Also, this company is really good about sending you products to try so you get the $3 survey, the free product, and $3 for the follow up survey!

*Swagbucks is another program I use A LOT. Last year, I paid for almost all my Christmas presents for everybody with Amazon/Target gift cards that I got from the site. If you go here , it signs you up. Use it as a search engine and you randomly earn swag bucks. Right now I have around 10,000 but I'm saving them for Christmas presents :)

*Inbox dollars is a way to make a little over a long time. It took me almost a year to get $30 but when I got it- it filled up my gas tank! They basically send you various emails everyday and each one you read, you get .02! Like I said- it takes a while but the $30 is nice when it comes.

Also, a lot of our local restaurants (ie Niffers) have a loyalty program- check and see if any around you do too!

Shopping*Before I buy anything online, I always check retailmenot.com to find codes. It literally has thousands of stores with active codes available.

Willy and I don't have a ton of space in the condo so we don't stockpile like a lot of the mega couponers do (who also only spend like $30/month). I pretty much make a meal plan for a month at a time (based on what coupons I have and what's on sale at the grocery stores) and then make a list of what I need to buy to make each meal. Obviously, we don't eat steak every night (I don't eat any red meat), but we don't eat much spaghetti either :)

Oh I don't know maybe like 7 months ago (clearly I am on top of it) I bought the most amazing thing ever from this store.

Seriously, you can write any message you want in a cookie!!! Have something bad to say to someone? soften the blow by writing it in a cookie! Tense situation? Ease it by writing something in a cookie! Obviously, I went the whole "I'm my number one fan so I'm making cookies with my name in them" route but the possibilities are endless!

Soon I'll be trying the "this is my two weeks notice" cookie and "sorry mom we're moving to the beach" cookie! What would your cookie say?

Willy and I always name our cars with the most ridiculous names possible. My first car was a Geo Metro (don't judge) and I named it Geonardo DeMetrio. Willy's last car was a PT cruiser which we named Tom Cruiser and my current car is named Beatrice the Beetle (or B for short). So, when Willy and I bought a new car I was racking my brain for weeks (literally it's been three weeks) for a new name. Cletus the camry? Chandler? Nothing fit until we concluded on Camry Diaz (is it bad that picking out the name of our new car is more exciting to me than actually picking out the car itself?). Yes, I've been bad about blogging- are you really surprised?

There's so many comments I could tell you about the last couple of days- the RIDICULOUSLY high temps, the time my mom bought flowers from a homeless man, the fact that we had to wear tourist ponchos that were entirely over-priced (stupid supply and demand), or the time that I rode in the back of a hearse (yes, you read that right) during a ghost tour. I could tell you all that, but I'll just let you look at the pics instead- enjoy!

PS- I really don't know how it's possible to have so many pictures when you are clearly an amateur. I can only assume it's because my thinking process goes something like this:

Savannah Day Two.

Yes, I am still reminiscing about Savannah.

Day two of the trip consisted of me waking up SUPER early so I could plan out the itinerary for the rest of the week. Yep, I am one of those people. I like to plan out what/when we are doing everything so we can get the max amount of "stuff" in. Want to sit back and relax? Okay, let me pencil that in (kidding, I'm not that bad...yet). I just like a general outline and our final version (with impromptu add-ins) went a little like this:

*Just realized the song says Susanna not Savannah but I get lyrics wrong almost 90% the time so it's not a shocker to anyone.

I love being a tourist- I mean LOVE. I love all the cheesy tourist traps and t-shirt stores that are always dirty and run by people who don't speak English as their first language. I love waiting in long lines at the restaurants that everyone says you have to go to (unless I'm starving and then I turn into a major b!*ch while waiting to eat- SORRY WILLY). Getting to the point- last weekend/week my parents and Willy and I went to Savannah and I LOVED IT. By far the prettiest city and definitely the most historical place I have ever been. Thank God I waited until I was 26 to go because there is no way I would have appreciated it when I was young and ~~only cared about cute boys~~ way too cool to care about "boring" stuff like history.

Before I get to the Savannah Pics I wanted to share this BREAKING NEWS- Willy and I won the lottery in GA! Well- not millions but $30 off a scratch off ticket which is the most I have ever won EVER (mostly because AL doesn't have a lottery and because I'm too cheap to play). Pic of us with our winnings (notice how I was so pumped I couldn't even tame my wild hair!).

I must have taken a million pictures (497 to be exact- but I exaggerate so it's close enough) and there is no way I can fit them all into one post so I'm def. going to be breaking it up. This is part one......

The place we stayed was literally 5 minutes from River Street and less than a minute to City Market. I loved it and could live in the condo every day form the rest of my life. If you want info on where you can rent it let me know and I MIGHT share. MIGHT.

I have a love/hate relationship with Alabama. Yep, the entire state.

*Mild winters = love
*So hot/humid you want to kick someone summer = hate
*Gulf Coast = love (until the douchtastic BP ruined it)
*weird bugs that only exist in this "part" of the world = hate
*gorgeous state parks & lakes = love
*the fact that I have to drive to ATL* for anything modern = hate
*the fact that I can drive to ATL* for the day because it's that close = love

getting to the point... This past weekend, W's Dad came down to visit and he's always wanted to take us to the local racetrack (he used to live around here for a few years a long time ago). We agreed since every time he comes down and wants to go- it's been rained out. Even though I expected it to be hot ~~I whined like a baby for the first hour or so~~ I did not expect two things to happen: 1-to see so many jean shorts in one place at the same time and 2) to actually kind of have fun!

*ATL= Atlanta not Ann Taylor Loft as someone so diligently pointed out to me. Who knew I was so down with lingo that I needed foot notes?

Watch for the little kid sitting next to me- he was this many (2) and kept telling me that his dad said it was okay if I wanted to come home and be his new mom. Um- awkward to say the least.

I've been bad about blogging lately because ~~I'm lazy~~ a lot has been going on. My sister and my BIL came to visit (pics to come later), Willy started his 4th and FINAL year of vet school (OMG THANK YOU JESUS), and we are planning a quick get-a-way to Gulf Shores this weekend. Yes, I am sure we will see some oil- even though I've heard the smell is much more awful than seeing it, but I am looking forward to getting out of dodge. If anyone has a hazmat suit laying around they'd let us borrow, maybe we'll help clean up.

Totally unrelated (did you like that transition?), Toy Story 3 comes out this weekend. Yes, I realize it's a total kid's movie but I CANNOT wait to see it. WAY back in the day (Dec. 1999 to be exact), I met a skinny little white boy at Theaters of Georgetown to see Toy Story 2. Yep, that's right folks- my first "date" with Willy was to see Toy Story 2. Best part? All the merchandise coming out-even the Target $1 bins had a ~~crap ton of stuff~~ few little things I picked up (I had to stop- I was in danger of being nominated for Hoarders).

We are taking the babies with us this weekend so there will be lots of this going on during the car ride (about 3.5 hrs each way).

We weekend was memorable to say the least. On Sat. night we went out to celebrate a friends birthday and everything started out calm...

We went to a new place in town that has live music and really cheap/good food. The only complaint I have is that they didn't have tables big enough for large parties and we had to split up. The owner bought us all a free round of drinks...

After FIVE yes, FIVE margaritas (don't judge people kept sending over free drinks) we went back for a little Oriental Thunder entertainment. It sounds exactly like what it is. A TINY Asian-American man who started "dancing" as a dare and now does it as a side job. There is no good way to explain this. He's not a really stripper and does not get close to being naked. He has CRAZY moves and dances to funny/weird music. I laughed so hard I nearly puked. PS- there were 5 men there (including my husband) who were laughing as hard as the women were! He was a nice "stripper" and hung out with us for hours after he did he thing. He taught us some sweet dance moves and we filmed a 4 minute long video to Whitney Houston's "Somebody to Love Me" (if I get a copy- I'll upload it!). Just to prove he's not a real dancer- his business card (which he handed out) has "dancer, entertainer, tutor, and COMPUTER PROGRAMMER on it! By far the most fun I've had in a LONG time!

my 26th and the creepy tepee

May 8th I officially turn 26- but we celebrated with our friends last night. We started at Olive Garden....

And ended up at the Raboin's house. Apparently Shannon found a creepy tepee in the woods about 1 mile away. Of course when he told us about it we were totally weirded out but intrigued.So the ~~totally immature~~ logical thing to do was to check it out. I mean 5 of us were going together (power in numbers right?). Did I mention it was 10:30 p.m. and it was pitch black out? Yeah... So we drove as far as we could and then proceeded with a flashlight which died. FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. Shannon had the bright idea to use his Vespa's headlight as a flashlight which worked great until he dropped it on it's side and flooded the engine. Now, picture 5 grown adults walking through the woods at night pushing a Vespa. Ha!

The we finally arrived. Yep- it was just as creepy and weird as I thought it would be. I was more scared than I have ever been in my life. This thing HAS to be the home of a serial killer/rapist. There is no way around it. It has floor boards, a makeshift stove, an axe, a saw, tea bags strewn about, a shallow grave covered up by brush (acting like a trap), and last but certainly not least a stuffed bunny cut directly down the middle with the stuffing coming out. Keep in mind this place is not tiny- all 5 of us could fit in there and stand up without being crowded.

Since we got married in Jan. and we went to the beach several times a year together we decided to go to Aspen for our honeymoon. I thought it would be fun, relaxing, and adventurous all the same time. In a nutshell I WAS WRONG.

When we arrived that the airport to leave out- we were greeted at the gate by Airport Security and the Police. Apparently Willy was on the "no fly" list and had to prove he was who he claimed he was. We needed his birth certificate and social security card (along with some other "stuff") which was all sitting nicely at our place 1.5 hours away from the airport. FANTASTIC.

After clearing everything up and missing our original flight- we finally arrived in Chicago. Ever been to the O'Hare airport? It's HUGE. Because of the missed flight the layover was SHORT and we had 15 minutes to run from one terminal to literally the terminal on the complete opposite end- however after ~~pushing kids out of the way~~ running frantically we made it!!! Honeymoon: 1 Thompson's: 1.

When we arrived in Denver our flight was delayed. Then delayed again. Then canceled. Just what I always wanted- to spend the first night of our honeymoon in the Denver Airport. We went to the McDonald's right next to the terminal (because we're classy like that) and tried to figure out a game plan. Apparently I was crying and visually upset b/c a girl that was supposed to be on our flight came over and sat down. She introduced herself and told me her friends were going to pick her up from Vail, which was accepting incoming flights, and they would drive us to Aspen. We were young, dumb, and oblivious to the dangers of committing to a 1.5 hr ride w/ strangers so we changed our flight to Vail. This is were the sh!t hit the fan.

Once we arrived in Vail we waited and waited for our luggage which NEVER came. We were told to check back tomorrow as it may have went to the original destination. GRRRREAT. We hopped in the car with the people we didn't know and we were on our way to Aspen. They dropped us off at our resort (which we pre-paid for & over paid for by thousands of dollars). We went to go check in and they claimed we didn't have a reservation. Not only had they given away our condo- but they didn't even have us down. With no vacancy, no car, and no one to call, I was not happy (to say the least). Finally the manager gave us a condo which look like it literally walked out of a 80's thrift store (and not in a good way). Whatever, at least it was somewhere I could lay my head.

The next day, we went to the airport to pick up our rental car and to see if the luggage was there. Apparently, the rental car lost our reservation as well (even though I had the confirmation #) and didn't have a car for us. However we could "hang out" and see if something became available (which we ended up doing and lost almost and entire day to). And the luggage? Yeah, it wasn't there. We filled out the lost luggage form, waited on a car, and ate more airport food. Finally around 5 pm we got a car and of course had to pay more $$$ because it was an "upgrade" form the one we originally paid for.

When we got back to the resort, we realized Willy had left his phone in the stranger's car and that my camera was missing from INSIDE the room. This was the camera with photos of the wedding and a few of the honeymoon (I had to document the room because no one was going to believe me). FAN-FREAKINC-TASTIC. Thankfully, the guy came back and returned Willy's phone, but the camera was NEVER returned to our room. We literally lived out of our carry on luggage the entire 3 days we spent in Aspen and became one of "those people" who wear tourist t-shirts/sweatshirts from the place they are visiting. Ex. we wore our Aspen sweatshirts in Aspen- which I cannot stand. However, shopping in Aspen is too $$$ for a couple of newlywed students.

Out of the three days we were there, we spent an entire day sick to our stomachs and unable to move due to Altitude Sickness (yes it's VERY REAL), and another in the airport waiting for our luggage/rental car. Yep, we basically paid major $$$ for a ONE DAY HONEYMOON. The very last day, we finally received our luggage which I didn't even unpack.

On the way back to KY- we were of course greeted at the gates by airport security and the police AGAIN. At this point, I said somethings that I am surprised didn't land me in jail, and told my husband that I was getting on the plane with or without him.

PS- the "resort" sent us a bill on the last day because they claimed we hadn't paid. Which of course we showed them otherwise but it was def. one of those things that almost made me go psycho on someone.

I'd include some pics on this post but I don't think you'd want to see the disposable camera pics I took. Oh well LIFE GOES ON.

PS always heard the worse the wedding/honeymoon is the better the marriage. If so, I think we are set for LIFE.

Wedding LONG POST part one.

After some recent posts from my twitter friends, I realized I never posted our wedding story. Mostly because I assumed everyone who read this blog already knew everything that happened, or partly because I'm not that fond of the story. I decided to break it up into two parts- part one being the Wedding (the lesser of two evils) and part two being the honeymoon.

Willy and I met at Scott County High School our freshman year. I remeber exactly when we met because he was dating my BFF at the time. We were at a football game and I was changing from my band uniform into my Cheerleading uniform for the half time show at the homecoming game. Apparently he thought I was "cute in my band uniform" which I thought was crazy because I had a plume in my hat which was on my head (I was SO COOL). We flirted back and forth for a while and went out on a group date to see Toy Story 2, but started offically dating December 20, 1999. Yep, we've been dating since we were 15. We finished high school together, went to college together, and now we are experiencing the final stages of Vet School together.

Back to the Wedding...We got engaged YOUNG and I mean YOUNG. We were 19 when Willy proposed and I was elated. I knew I didn't want to get married right away but I loved saying "fiancé". We carefully planned everything out over the course of TWO YEARS. The first thing I did was book the recpetion site here. I had always wanted a reception there and was beyond thrilled when I leanred it was open on the date (this place books up FAST). Nine months out, I had all the girls try on dresses and decide which dress they liked. I picked out a rich pink color and thought that was that. The dresses we to arrive in 6 months. Perfect.

Fast forward 8 months. Still no bridesmaids dresses. ONE MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING. After ~~threatening phone calls~~ a few heated dicussions with the bridal shop, they promised dresses by the end of the week. I got the phone call on my way home from work and I ran over to pick them up. I opened the box and found ALMOST WHITE DRESSES. WTF? Those were not the color I ordered. They were def. a shad of pink- but so light and close to white I knew in all the pics they would like mini wedding dresses. FANTASTIC. Of course the bridal shop played dumb but I knew it was their fault. PS this bridal shop has since closed...KARMA IS A B!T$H. Oh well, crisis averted.

Fast forward the the day before the wedding. We were all at the church decorating and trying to hide as much of the Christmas decoration as possible (we got Married Jan. 6) when I received a phone call. It went something like this:

Lady from Cardome: "I need to talk to your mother"
Me: "Talk to me, I'm the bride"

Lady from Cardome: "No. I need to talk to your mother or father"
Me: "Listen ________ I'm the bride what in the h@#l is going on"
Lady from Cardome: "Well, we can't have your recpetion here tomorrow. There's a crack in the ceiling that's been there for quite sometime and we just got it looked at yesterday. BLAH BLAH BLAH...we can't have anyone in the room until it's fixed".

WHAT IN THE HELL? I collapsed and fell on my knees sitting on the Altar. I had 300 people coming to my wedding reception in less than 24 hours with NO VENUE.

I was in shock. After ~~vomiting, cusing, threatening a few lives~~ calming down my family went to work. The city owned that space and a family member used to work for the Mayor whom she called. He offered to pay for an equvalent space in the town which I just so happen to think looks like a basement- ummmm NO. After negoationg and getting laywers involved, the city decided to pay $15,000 over what I had paid for the original room to reserve the Bluegrass Pavilion and Patio space here. In the end everything turned out fine. Thankfully the city put up signs all over town and the other venue had stationed someone there to let people know there was a change in recpetion venues. They also paid for 15 guys to help set up the tables and chairs at the new venue literally at 7 pm the night before the wedding.

Thankfully the flowers and food all arrived to the correct location as well. Pretty much everything else went off without a hitch. If you made it this far- thanks. Stay tuned for the honeymoon from HELL (literally I've been told by no less than 50 people I should write a book about it. Imagine "Just Married").

Birthday!!!!!!!

I am a obsessed with birthdays...ANYONE'S BIRTHDAY!!! However, a HUGE birthday is coming up in less than one month. It's a very important birthday and is in process of becoming a national holiday- did you hear? May 8th- it's going to be on the national calendar starting next year!!! Obviously, I'm kidding but the Universe is totally loving me this year because on my b-day none other than this little lady will be hosting SNL

Betty White I LOVE YOU.

On a side note: I have been lusting over this apron and would not be appalled if anyone wanted to buy it for me *cough*...

Seriosuly, I have been swooning over this apron for MONTHS which makes me realize I'm a total grown up when I swoon over aprons- oh well, I've always said I was the oldest 25 year old you'd ever meet- I'll just have to change that to the oldest 26 year old.

I am not kidding when I say it's not been above 30 degrees in my office since BEFORE Christmas break. There are SO MANY birthday's in December between all of our friends...but most importantly my DH turned 26!!! Happy late birthday Willy!

On that note* last night we helped a friend throw a surprise party for her husband's 30th b-day (it as his first suprise party EVER)! I forgot how much I love throwing and going to a good LOUD party (stupid condo)! The theme was "old men and tarts" even though Willy eneded up looking like an Amish farmer and I was not hooker enough- I was a hooker with class and sass....an uptown hooker- U CAN'T AFFORD ME :) I got a ~~lot~~ little tipsy and we had a good time....

PS- T-Minus 1.5 days until I leave for KY/Nashville for Christmas break!!!!

Yes I do LOVE saving money and yes I do call myself frugal and a couponer. However, when it comes to things like Christmas I have ALWAYS splurged. This year Willy and I were very gung-ho about sticking to our budget. I kid you not, I got 12 people presents for less than $300 total (after coupons). It includes things like movies from Amazon for $.49 (free shipping w/ trial of Amazon Prime and gift cards that I earned from using swagbucks!), a photo coffee mug from Kodak Gallery (using my $15 Amillionthanks gift code) that was $5 total (mostly shipping) after the coupon, snuggies found on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond for $9.99 (of course I used my 20% off code to get them for $7.99 each)!

Although I'm having no problems finding great presents for other people I am struggling with what I want. THIS IS TOTALLY NEW TO ME. I've always had a list a mile long, but not this year :( Willy and I are going to Nashville for our Anniversary (we take trips every year instead of giving each other something), so spening too much money on our present exchange is out of the question. What about you? Do you have any suggestions for a chrsitmas present for less than $50 that I can put oln my list? PS- this must be a Chrsitmas miracle!!!! I have a confession: I LOVE TRASHY TV, reality tv in particular!!!!! No, not your Jerry Springer variety but the standard ~~any cable network really~~VH1, BRAVO, or MTV shows- and I will defend some of my favorites from being called trashy until the very end ~~which could be in a season or two~~. Ah nothing better than looking on your Tivo and seeing all sorts of little goodies you can fast forward through (have you noticed how shows have started doing that stupid coming up and recap at the beginning/end of commerical breaks?).

What are your favs? The Hills was OBVS before LC left. It's gone downhill FAST.

Seriously. I CANNOT TAKE ONE MORE DEATH. In the past three months my Grandmother has passed (hardest hit I have ever taken) and within four days two professors here at the vet school have passed. Yes, I am an adult and I can deal with it but......

I'm asking for suggestions about an appropriate gift for my boss. The professor who died yesterday was one of his very best friends and he's taking it really hard. Since I am basically Sandra Bullock's character in Two Week's Notice, obviously, I don't like to see my boss upset. Suggestions?

Oh...it's been a while and a lot has happened! Want a short and sweet re-cap?

*First and foremost: Willy is doing SURGERY!!!! I am so proud of him and all of his classmates (YEAH 2011)!!! He's the one all the way to the right in the picture below (thanks Ms Roth for taking the picture)!

*I ~~almost died from violent vomiting and a sore throat~~ survived the worst sickness I probably have ever had. No it wasn't the swine flu- believe me I was checked THREE times. Instead it was a mix of an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, stomach bug (which I piked up from the ~~horrible, lousy, worst place ever~~ doctor's office, and laryngitis- to which the doctor told me "whoa...you're throat looks like hamburger meat". AWESOME.

*My parents came down for a visit. O.M.G. I love when they visit ~~because they pamper me and buy me lots and lots of stuff~~ for more than one reason!!! Plus we went to ATL for the day and I'm sure you've heard my love stories for this place.....oh I love you ATL.

*I've been shopping like crazy lately!! Wanna peak at my purchases?

These are just a few of the dresses I bought. If you have to even remotely dress up for work let me recommend the wrap dress from Target (I bought it in Hunter green) and the Black turtleneck from Old Navy. Seriously, if cleanliness wasn't an issue I could wear these dresses EVERY SINGLE DAY. I also bought some really nice pieces from Anthro (the gray short sleeve dress -my favorite!!) and from here, and here but of course they aren't all available online- boo :(

Other than ~~working on my obvious shopping addiction~~ we haven't really been doing a whole bunch. Since I'm posting this at work ~~yes I am a bad employee~~ and I don't have access to my pictures, I'll have to save posting about the Syrup Soppin' festival and the Alabama State Fair.

*On a side note, I promise I am back to normal. I've gotten this whole two full time jobsin 8 hours a day down to a science :)

I might be absent for the next few days. Work is OVERWHELMING to say the least. If I can accomplish the following things on a daily basis, I consider the day a SUCCESS!

1- getting to work on time which is now 30 mins earlier -stupid snooze button is against me.
2- answer 1,000 plus emails and phone calls EVERYDAY without getting snippy (you try answering the same question 5,000 times in one week...literally 5,000)
3- give tours to at least four groups of people twice a week- totally not my job
4- take on another full time job (without the pay OF COURSE), which yes means I will have TWO and the PLEASURE of staying late FOR FREE EVERYDAY. Just what I've always wanted.
5-work with people who do not know the alphabet....seriosuly.
6- drive home without falling asleep
7- make dinner
8- VEG OUT IN FRONT OF THE TV (by far my favorite part of the day)
9- repeat. DANG.

long hiatus

It's been a while, I know. A lot of things have happened and I have been so stressed that to be honest with you I didn't want to blog because I didn't want to talk about what has been going on. Just for the record- Willy and I are not pregnant and no we are not getting divorced.

First lets talk about cars. I pray EVERY SINGLE DAY that Willy and I would move to a large city so I would NEVER have to drive again. Driving is the bane of my existence. Tom Cruiser (Willy's PT Cruiser) broke down yet again and we got stranded on the side of the highway (I already blogged about this earlier). His dad came down at the end of July and took the car home with him (he owns his own body shop) to fix it so we wouldn't have to shell out the $3,000 the place was going to charge us (thanks Tony!). Which left us driving Beatrice (my pink Beetle). This would have been fine if my transmission didn't GO OUT. Geez. Apparently rental cars in Auburn, Alabama don't exist because it took us three days to finally get one (they were sold out- stupid enterprise), and of course they decided to charge us an OUTRAGEOUS rate per day I can't even type how much we've paid for rental cars without feeling like I want to punch someone so I digress....PS- we still don't have Willy's car and my car is still acting weird. AWESOME.

Then there is the couch. Oh our LOVELY LOVELY couch. I've blogged about how much I love my couch before and I truly do. However, I don't love when my $2,000 couch (yes I know I totally over paid) breaks, especially not when I have company. This amazing couch set upside down in our living room like this for WEEKS because the company we bought it from dragged their feet on turning it in for a warranty claim. Once again, I feel my fist tightening so I digress....Look closely, do you see? Yep that is the frame that broke as well as the springs that popped out.

More things happened but they deserve their own blog stay tuned for more of my pity party.

I am getting new carpet in my office ~~today~~ sometime within the next month, so I have been moved to a temporary location. How do I feel about this? ~~IT SUCKS~~ not happy. I don't have any privacy, my stuff is EVERYWHERE and I have to literally walk across the room to answer the phone, which isn't fun when the phone rings at least 100 times a day ~~I know I'm lazy~~. So what's a girl to do when you have LOTS of free time?? Photo session with my husband (and coworker) results below...

Ah....that might be my favorite thing about my MAC. I love Photo Booth!!!!! PS- I think I might be allergic to bleach. Last night Willy cleaned with it and the fumes sat for so long I threw up. I threw up hard enough to break blood vessels under my eye (right eye in the pic- PS this pic is sans makeup because I would rather eat breakfast than put makeup when I'm running late).

It's no secret that I get extremely bored at work ~~all the time~~ sometimes . In fact, that is where I do 99% of my blogging (PS if you have a MAC pushing the apple button plus h hides the screen you're on in case someone walks in....you know someone like your boss). While ~~wasting time~~ working productively this morning, I found out that I can watch the today on the computer. OMG. I LOVE the Today Show and I think that if I didn't work I'd get up early just to watch it ~~and then take a nap~~. I can't believe I missed last week when Tori Spelling was on the show with Kathy Lee. I LOVE all things Tori Spelling- her books, her mommy-style, the fact that she was on the greatest show ever made, her jewelry , I could go on but I don't want to sound creepy. Did you get to see it? Did I miss anything worthy of you-tubing?
On a completely different note, I just bought these dresses from Tar-jay:

As Willy and I drove home the other day on I-85, poor little Tom (yes we, well really I, named him Tom Cruiser), broke down. Scary part? He broke down WHILE we were driving. There was a fatal car accident that was a direct result from this same situation no more than three miles from where we broke down 1 month ago. Luckily we were able to get Tom over to the side of the road safely.

I never realized how many RUDE drivers there are in the world until that very moment. As we sat on the side of the road waiting for AAA to pick us up no more than 400 cars passed us going full speed and refused to get over into the left hand lane even though there were no other cars around. I was pissed (still kinda am). We couldn't get out the car because the ants were SO bad (these were not normal ants, they were red, devilish, fire ants). In fact, the two or less minutes I was out of the car my ankles got bit so much they are still swollen three days later (sucks). After 45 minutes of cars coming INCHES away from hitting us, people throwing their trash at us, and one incredibly rude person who literally rowed his window down and came so close to us that I thought he was going to ask if we needed help- but instead decided to SPIT yes SPIT on us CLASSY, I was at my breaking point. I frankly stood outside my car and flicked off every rude person that drove by. Stupid? YES. Dangerous? ABSOLUTELY. Felt good? YOU BETCHA! I starting freaking out after I did it thinking what if I just flipped off someone I worked with? But then again, I only flipped off people that literally came inches away from us- so they probably deserved it (these people where not getting close to see if they could help- I'm sure they couldn't see anything since they were all driving at least 75 MPH). Anyway, I stopped acting like a three year old and got back into the car. Looking back at the situation, I was clearly not at my best.

Lesson learned: do not stand on the side of the interstate with 4" heels on wearing a dress with your middle finger out when someone refuses to get over. You might get shot. I would have loved to see me in such a klassy moment.

By the way, if you drove past Auburn on Monday and someone flicked you off from the side of the road....sorry (KINDA).

It's been a while and although I've still been blog stalking all of you, I have definitely not updated in over a week! Sadly that is a long time for me. Here's highlights of what I've been up to:

*Mom, Dad, and Diane (MIL) were in town for a little more than a week
*Went to ATL
*Went shopping almost everyday
*Grilled out A LOT...YUM
*learned to let my OCD about a "clean" house go

Ahh.. The parents are in town (I LOVE have a full house) so we went to Atlanta for the day on Saturday. My Mom bought me this skirt from Anthropologie (I couldn't find it anywhere on their website). It might be the most comfortable skirt I own. The picture doesn't do it justice (I know it's poor quiality but I took it off Photo Booth which is the WORST quality ever!)- it hits just below my knee- even though I know it looks like it hits at my ankles (the pic was taken from above-even after 10 shots, this was the best).

We also went to Trader Joe's where I proceeded to indulge myself in the BBQ pop chips. Holy crap. If you are lucky enough to have a TJ's near you go out and buy ten bags of these immediately. They are the best chip i've ever had and can easily eat a bag by myself a lot more quickly than I'd like to admit to. Most Target stores are selling Pop Chips now so at least I won't have to make the 1.5 hour dirve everytime I get a craving for these little guys!

I haven't really posted in a while...no excuse really, I've just been lazy about it- although it does make me feel a little blog stalker-ish when I continue to read other blogs religiously but don't add anything to mine...oh well :)

Willy and I (and by that I mean Willy) have been doing a few small projects around the house. First up- remember the faucet I posted about a while ago? We finally got it in and we (Willy) installed it- take a look before and after!
I LOVE IT! Only bad thing? We forgot to keep the fitting form the Brita filter so we have to buy a new one- at this point the filter is going to have cost us more than the faucet itself....ugh.

I've also tried to get back into sewing. I made this half apron for my sis out of an old curtain and and old pair of pants (yes, those are the back pockets off of the pants and yes I realize this is a HORRIBLY UNFLATTERING picture of myself, please kind words only ). I love to re-use fabric!!!

I hate my kitchen faucet. It leaks, it wobbles, and it's the generic builder grade faucet you see in about 80% of all homes/apartments/trailers/anywhere else you'd have a sink- take a look for yourself..

PS this pic was taken before we moved in...the cabinets are now black, the walls are light gray, and we have a dishwasher in that gaping hole on the right

I have this curse with falling in love with things before they become "main stream" which in turn means they are out of my price range (ie my couch which is available everywhere now for a fraction of the cost grrrrr... our bookcase/desk that we bought here but is available now for less from here, our table which I waited for an entire year to go on sale before I bought it, oh how I could go on but I'm getting more and more pissed with every word I type). Of course finding a faucet I loved was no exception. I have been in deep lust over a curved neck bridge faucet for a while. I. LOVE. THEM.

However, I REFUSE to pay over $400 for a faucet for a house I will be moving out of in two years..heck for any house. But look, itsn't it pretty? I had to refrain myself from taking out a second mortgage to finace this little gem...

Getting to the point...I settled. I made myself choose between getting a curved neck faucet or a bride faucet. Want to know which one I chose? I chose this....
That's right I love it. The deciding factor? The fact that I just bought a $260.00 faucet off of ebay for $41.00. Can't wait to get it in!!!!!

PS- Did I really just do an entire post about a faucet? Wow....I really am easily excited!!!

Has anyone seen the sun? At this point, I'm pretty sure it only exists when I'm at work (in an office with no windows). Seriously, I feel like I live in the jungle with the constant rain and RIDICULOUS humidity. So what's a girl to do when it rains for yet another weekend?

Shop. Yep, Saturday (on the the verge of me going absolute crazy) I shopped. I picked up some of the best pillows I have ever laid my head on. If you enjoy sleeping even half as much as I do, you should pick these little gems up here.
Sunday, for the lack of a better word, sucked. It stormed like crazy, knocked out the power for the ENTIRE town (including the mall....grrr), and made life pretty miserable.Did I mention how hot and humid it is ALREADY? At least when we got out power back on there was a Law and Order SVU Marathon. I might be addicted to any Law and Order show....but this is by far my favorite.

By the way, I could NEVER make it without air conditioning by the end of the two hour no power stint yesterday, I was seriously considering taking an ice bath (yes I know I am ridiculous)...the thought alone frightens me.

This week has been weird.

*I was kicked out of my office (stupid renovations)
*laughed so hard I thought I was going to throw up (in my office by myself and YES- someone did walk by and ask if I was okay time number three this has happened)

*went out to lunch with my husband during the work day in
*found out I lived in the second best city in America to live in read here
*learned I absolutely CANNOT keep a secret from my husband
*finally downloaded pics from Derrick and Ashley's wedding (even though I'm having a hard time uploading to fb...anyone else?
*took a FOUR HOUR nap...don't know whether or not I'm impressed with myself or ashamed
*didn't buy ANYTHING other than food (HUGE MILESTONE FOR ME!)
*decided I WILL go yard sale-ing this weekend (hopefully)

Let me explain. Last night Willy and I went to see this movie (YOU HAVE TO SEE IT- SOOOOO Funny), and of course the stupidest couple in the theater sat right behind us. The girl (who was talking so loudly the entire crowded theater could hear her) thought she was classy. She was basically screaming about money, her family's influence, blah blah blah. She then proceeded to put her feet up on Willy's chair about 2 inches away from his head. I turned around and gave her the death stare to which she did nothing. Fine. I let it slide because Willy said he didn't care. I turned around about 30 minutes to later to see her BARE FOOT about 1 inch from Willy's head. To this we both turned around and I proceeded to tell her she was rude and had no class (perhaps I overreacted.....perhaps!). She took her foot down and was silent throughout the movie. FINALLY. I guess being a bitch does work sometimes especially in a college town where EVERYONE thinks they are entitled (don't even get me started on this). But I digress.

I'm pretty much in lust with everything on this site. It's nice to see stuff that's different on a daily basis. Do you ever get tired of looking at the same stuff (clothing, shoes, toys, decorations, etc)? Auburn does not have many places to shop and I refuse to buy things that EVERYONE seems to have...it gets old and definitely does not get any creative juices going. That's why Willy and I have been going to ATL so much. It's nice to have so many options (apparently I am NOT a small town kind of girl). What do you do to break up the monotony?
